George Mathew conducts the incredible Handel's Royal Fireworks Music!

Singapore-Born Indian Conductor George Mathew (yes that's really an Indian name) teams up with the Brooklyn Philaharmonic to bring Handel's Royal Fireworks Music (Choreographed) to Manhattan (@ Pier 17). Imagine for a moment, "the incredible music of Handel, performed live to a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display launched from two barges into the skies above lower Manhattan and Brooklyn!"

When: Saturday, June 16

How to get There: BY SUBWAY- 2, 3, 4, 5, J, Z, or M to Fulton Street; A C trains to Broadway-Nassau; or E train towards Fulton Street. PATH Train to World Trade Center stop. "New York-area residents will experience a rare treat on Saturday, June 16, as Brooklyn Philharmonic (under the baton of Singapore-born Indian conductor George Mathew), performs Handel's Royal Fireworks Music synchronized to an spectacular fireworks show above the East River.Part of Target Children’s Day & Fireworks at South Street Seaport, the event marks the New York-area’s only known symphony performance of the summer in which classical music is accompanied by choreographed fireworks."

This unusual choreographed fireworks-concert includes works by Handel, Mendelssohn, Gluck, Bartok, and Rossini. It's the grand finale of a whole day of fun events at South Street Seaport. The fireworks show is produced by Zambelli (one of the country's oldest family-run fireworks companies) and all events at the "Target Children’s Day & Fireworks," day-long event are free of cost to the public.
