A trule mesmirizing blend- A concert you'll relive many times over!
Anoushka Shankar (Ravi Shankar's daughter and a fabulous Sitar player in her own right) and Karsh Kale launch their new album- "Breathing Under Water" at a small, intimate concert at the Highline Ballroom on Wednesday August 29, 2007. They have a launch concert at the World Cafe in Philly on August 28 (Tuesday) but I don't know anyone in NYC who'd make the trek :-) http://www.highlineballroom.com/bio.php?id=138

I have the album "Breathing Under Water" already and can tell you the songs are truly haunting and incredible. The tickets are $20 for theconcert but there are event sites like Gold Star events where you can find them for $13 ($10 plus $3 processing = $13 each) up for grabs.

  • The show at the highline was insane! Karsh & Anoushka were great, but the guy who was singing stole the show. AND They played a version of Karsh's old song 'Milan'. It was a once in a lifetime experiecnce, I hope they play some more!!!!! MusicFood

  • I agree. Milan was the highlight of the show but I do love "Slither" from "Breathing Under Water" and I was thrilled they opened with it.
